We have no idea why Silhouette Eyewear will no longer supply Posh Eyes, despite repeated attempts to seek explanation from the company’s executives for Silhouette’s decision to close our account.

We have been looking at his glasses (as we do!) and have concluded that in the 20/21 season he was wearing the Oakley Latch sunglasses (0OO9265) in Matt Grey Ink (colour code 0OO926532) but fitted with clear prescription lenses. See the picture on the left below.

This season (20/21) he continues to wear the Oakley Latch, but has now changed the colour to the clear frame colour -  0OO926552 (right below)

We receive phone calls every week from customer reviews companies wishing to sign Posh Eyes up to their latest reviews programmes. We are not convinced by the methods they use for the collection of customer reviews.

The issue we have is that most of these reviews companies allow posting of reviews on their clients' sites from customers who have not purchased from their clients.

We have noticed that the vast majority of our competitors use Trustpilot to collect reviews. We know how difficult it is to obtain reviews, and hence we find it strange that even new businesses seem to obtain vast numbers of positive reviews through Trustpilot within a short space of time. However we know that Trustpilot allows postings from individuals who have not purchased, and therefore we question the validity of many of these reviews.

We believe at Posh Eyes that reviews should be only from genuine customers. This is why we work with only one reviews company - reviews.co.uk - who only request and post reviews from customers who have purchased from Posh Eyes. For this reason, you can be confident that when you read a review about Posh Eyes on the reviews.co.uk site, that the review has been posted by a genuine customer. Although the number of reviews we receive is somewhat lower than you might find for some of our competitors who use Trustpilot, you know for sure that you can trust that they are all genuine.

At Posh Eyes, we take our customers' online security extremely seriously. In our industry in particular, we recognise the importance of securely collecting personal information required to fulfil orders, such as contact lens and sight test prescription information. One way we have helped our webisite users is to introduce Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) across our complete site. This enables users to browse our site securely as all data that is transferred between the users computer and our website is encrypted, making it useless to hackers if they intercept it.

Without HTTPS, websites transferring data (such as passwords and personal information) can be accessed by criminals and used for illicit activities. You can tell if a website has an SSL certificate installed by checking that the URL starts https:// and there is a green padlock (or tick if you are using internet explorer). These are both signs to show that the data will be encrypted.

We have noticed that a number of contact lens and prescription glasses websites which collect personal information are NOT secured with an SSL certificate. We strongly recommend that online users to not use these sites. Given the recent hacking issues at TalkTalk and Tesco Bank, why risk having your personal information open for anyone to see?

However this has been limited to only one colour - grey. Now you can choose a mirror effect for your prescription sunglasses from a variety of different colours including ocean blue and silver. Furthermore you can choose either a bright mirror finish on a dark sunglass tint (know as a Class 3 tint) or a softer mirror finish on a lighter tint (known as a Class 2 tint).
